Yoga Adventure to India 2012
A trek to India is the dream adventure of most yogis. My inaugural journey last year left me wanting to delve deeper into the culture, spices, silks, sounds, and cities of this majestic and modern country. Since my return, often in yoga class as we transition into savasana I will sneak a dab on my wrist of the Sandalwood or Jasmine oils I brought home. As I lie in a clear, restful state, the scents transport me back to the richly saturated colors and energy of the temples, rickshaws, and tropical streets of the South Indian coastal cities. I also return to the images of enjoying chai tea on the banks of the ancient city Varanasi just watching the active, spiritual culture of life on the spiritually charged Ganges River.

Michelle Baker (of Swan River Yoga in New Orleans) and I are returning to the Motherland again in February 2012. We will visit cultural sites, profoundly peaceful ashrams, eat amazing food, and meet wonderful Indian people. To completely embody being in the cradle of Yoga, we will soak ourselves in the practices of asana, meditation, philosophy talks, and kirtan daily as Michelle and I will alternate teaching and leading practices relevant to our location. The group trip has a very limited capacity so that everyone may have an intimate and transformational experience. Michelle and I have partnered with Redback Travels of Portland Oregon who specialize in spiritual journeys and tourism to India. Dates, cost, itinerary details, and travel guidelines for our February 2012 trip are at www.redbacktravels.com. Please join us! It really is the spiritual adventure of a lifetime. Jai Ma!
